  In Madras there was a British Army chaplain in Madras who named his son (also born 1858) Frederick John Dealtry Lugard. This son went on to be a great soldier and administrator and 1st Baron Lugard. This could help to trace the connection to the Dealtry family.

He was 26, a batchelor and lived at Bolarum. She was 16 and a 1/2, a spinster, and lived at Hyderabad. Married by Robert Murphy, joint Chaplain - returns are from Cannanore, Calicut and Chudderghat - assume Chaderghat - no church given. Witnesses P Chamarett, J Bayley, P G Charles, and J A Moore. [S7] BMD - British Library, Marriage, N2 vol 71 p263. He was 30, she was 24. Both lived in Chudderghat. He was Auditor of Military Accounts, HH Nizam's Regular Troops. Rev Henry Fitzpatrick married them at St George's Chudderghat. [S3] LDS - Ancestral File. It seems extremely likely that the entry is for James, although the spelling in the LDS is James Daltry Chamrette. The age is correct and he is a widower.
